Missionary Mable Anderson

Missionary Mable Anderson was one of the three women who came to  the East Houston community of Fidelity in
1948 to start a little mission which later became known as St. Paul Temple Church of God in Christ.  Missionary
Anderson was a great prayer warrior and teacher of the gospel.  She met Missionary Frankie Sherrard at Buck
Street Church of God in Christ and they became close friends.  Ultimately she became the sister-in-law of
Missionary Sherrard.  They started this work together and continued to work faithfully under Elder Ellis until about
1960, when she moved her membership.  She was affectionately known as “Aunt Mable”  It is not exactly known
when the Lord called her home, but is generally thought to be some time in the early 1980’s.  Her commitment
and sacrifice to St. Paul Temple will always be remembered.
