Missionary Mable Anderson
Missionary Mable Anderson was one of the three women who came to the East Houston community of Fidelity in 1948 to start a little mission which later became known as St. Paul Temple Church of God in Christ. Missionary Anderson was a great prayer warrior and teacher of the gospel. She is believed to have met Missionary Frankie Sherrard at Buck Street Church of God in Christ and they became close friends.
Ultimately she married Missionary Sherrard’s brother, Aaron Anderson, and became her sister-in-law. They continued their close relationship and friendship. Missionary Mable Anderson worked faithfully under Elder Ellis’s leadership until about 1960, when she moved her membership. She was affectionately known as “Aunt Mable”.
Her commitment and sacrifice to St. Paul Temple will always be remembered.
